Vietnam精东影业 flag-carrier, Vietnam Airlines, has听operated听its听inaugural听commercial听flight to听San Francisco,听the first non-stop听regular听service听between听both countries.听听
Vietnam Airlines鈥� Boeing 787 Dreamliner, registered as听VN-A861,听took off from Ho Chi听Minh City International Airport (SGN) and touched down at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on November 29, 2021,听marking the airline精东影业 first entry to the United States.听听
鈥淲e are so honored to be the first airport in the U.S. to offer nonstop regular flights to Vietnam. We are grateful to Vietnam Airlines for making San Francisco their first U.S. destination, and we are confident this new service will be a success,鈥� said Director of San Francisco Airport Ivar C.听Satero.听
The听Ho Chi Minh-based carrier said it听will deploy its fleet of Boeing 787-9听Dreamliners听and Airbus A350 aircraft听for its regular non-stop services to the United States.听The airline currently has a total of听14 Airbus A350s,听11 787-9s听and four 787-10听Dreamliners听in its fleet,听according to Planespotters.net.听听
Vietnam Airlines will begin service with two weekly flights between San Francisco and Ho Chi Minh City. Over time, the airline aims听to offer听seven weekly flights to the US once the COVID-19 related travel restrictions are eased.听It also plans to听open a new route between Hanoi and Los Angeles.听听
