Canada精东影业 Swoop to order six Boeing 737 MAX jets

Canada精东影业 ultra-low-cost airline Swoop, a subsidiary of WestJet, will expand its fleet by introducing Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. 聽

In anticipation of returning travel demand, the airline decided to add six new 737 MAXs to its already existing fleet of 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The airline is expected to receive all aircraft in summer 2022.聽

鈥淭he acquisition of six new aircraft in response to anticipated demand will ensure Swoop reconnects more Canadians this summer while accelerating Canada精东影业 economic recovery,鈥澛燘ert van der Stege, head of Commercial & Finance, Swoop announced in a press statement.聽

The Calgary-based carrier will also expand its network by adding 14 new destinations stretching across Canada. The plans for growth come as Swoop sees increased passenger numbers and record bookings. The airline will add non-stop services to Canada精东影业 different regions in Ontario, the Prairies, Atlantic Canada.聽

Stege added: 鈥淲e saw demand for travel return in a very meaningful way over the holidays, signaling that Canadians are ready to reunite with family and friends.鈥澛
