Rossiya Airlines transfers 125 jets to Russian aviation register

All 125 passenger aircraft operated by Rossiya Airlines, a subsidiary of Russia精东影业 largest airline and the flag carrier Aeroflot Group, have been transferred to Russia精东影业 aviation register. 

The move is expected to help the carrier to continue flying leased foreign planes under the Russian flag and secure air connectivity across remote regions of the country.  

On March 30, 2022, Rossiya Airlines that 125 planes had been re-registered 鈥渢o Russian jurisdiction鈥. The airline also outlined that the procedure was carried out 鈥渋n accordance with Russian aviation law鈥. 

鈥淥btaining a Russian airworthiness certificate will allow the airline to continue using the fleet of foreign-made aircraft under the national flag of the country to organize uninterrupted air communication with remote regions,鈥 a spokesperson for Rossiya Airlines said. 

鈥淩ossiya Airlines planes have all the necessary documentation approved by the civil aviation regulator of the Russian Federation. Rossiya aircraft comply with airworthiness standards and undergo regular maintenance in a timely manner. Only qualified and certified personnel are involved in technical work,鈥 the spokesperson added. 

On March 22, 2022, the Transport Minister of Russia Vitaly Savelyev that almost 800 out of 1,367 aircraft operated by Russian carriers have already been transferred to the country精东影业 aviation register. However, Savelyev also noted that 78 jets leased by Russian airlines were seized in foreign countries and would not be returned due to international sanctions place on Russia.  

According to the company精东影业 Rossiya Airlines operates a diverse fleet consisting of Airbus A320 family jets as well as Boeing 737s, Boeing 777s, Boeing 747s, and Russian-made SSJ 100 passenger planes.
