Wizz Air has taken delivery of a brand-new Airbus A320neo, the 1000th A320neo powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines.
The Hungary-based carrier celebrated the delivery of the aircraft on April 28, 2022, adding to its fleet of 153 aircraft.
In , the ultra-low-cost airline said it selected Pratt & Whitney精东影业 ultra-modern and efficient GTF engines to power 276 of its A320neo family aircraft of which Wizz Air has received 54 A320neos.
The airline also emphasized its intent to triple the size of its current fleet with an order book of over 378 Airbus A320 family aircraft.
Owain Jones, Chief Development Officer of Wizz Air, commented on the occasion and expanded on the A320neo精东影业 impact on the airline精东影业 fleet operation and sustainability efforts.

According to the airline精东影业 statement, Wizz Air has set its sight on reducing its environmental footprint by 25% for every passenger by 2030.

Ahead of the summer season of 2022, Wizz Air forecasts strong travel demand and expects to surpass its previous operating results estimations for the fourth quarter of 2022.
The Hungary-based budget airline expects an operating loss of 鈧210-190 million (US$229-207 million) in Q4 2022, citing a 鈥渟table balance sheet and strong liquidity position鈥 with a total of 鈧1.3 billion (US$1.4 billion) in cash at year end.
