Bees swarm aircraft at Brazilian airport leaving passengers stuck for 90 mins

Passengers aboard a VOEPASS flight experienced an unexpected delay when a swarm of bees covered their aircraft after it landed at Greater Natal International Airport (NAT) in Brazil.

The aircraft landed at around 12:30 local time and passengers were required to disembark using external stairs via the tarmac.

Due to the colony of bees that attached themselves to the aircraft精东影业 wing, passengers were forced to remain inside the aircraft.

When the bees refused to budge, the pilot called for the assistance of airport firemen to assess the situation.

The firemen soon sprayed an unidentified substance on the aircraft wing, which was successful in making the bees leave.

The flight精东影业 passengers were then able to leave the aircraft 90 minutes after arrival.

The incident comes a little over a year after another of the airline’s aircraft was disrupted by a bird.

In December 2022, a VOEPASS ATR 72-500 was damaged while landing when an extremely large bird embedded itself in the nose of the aircraft at Sao Paulo Congonhas Airport (CGH).
