The China-based electric vehicle takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft developer EHang has announced the retail guide price for its unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), EH216-S.
According to EHang the eVTOL aircraft will cost customers $332,000 and will be effective from April 1, 2024.聽
The company cited the 鈥渕arket potential鈥 and the 鈥渟ubstantial industry scale鈥 of China’s 鈥渓ow-altitude economy鈥 for its decision, as well as the rapid growth in low-altitude aerial services.
鈥淭he company believes the pricing will more effectively cater to the market needs and further enhance the value of electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft and UAM,鈥 a spokesperson for EHang said.
On October 13, 2023, EHang confirmed that its unmanned two-seater eVTOL aircraft had received type certification from the (CAAC) which deemed that the EH216-S精东影业 model design fully complies with its safety standards and airworthiness requirements.聽 聽
The stunning announcement meant that EHang was the first company in the world to obtain type certification for its flying taxi.
Following this, on December 21,2023, EH216-S achieved the Standard Airworthiness Certificate allowing the first deliveries to be sent to customers.
鈥淭he certified EH216-S passenger-carrying UAVs that have been delivered to customers will be utilized to provide commercial services in various scenarios such as low-altitude sightseeing and urban tourism, and their presence will continue to expand the deployment and implementation in different operational scenarios,鈥 the spokesperson added.聽聽
