An inquest has heard how a 24-year-old flight attendant for Air Albania died suddenly, shortly after she landed at London-Stanstead Airport (STN).

Essex Coroners Court heard on February 22, 2019, how Greta Dyrmishi collapsed after arriving from Tirana, the capital of Albania.

The flight arrived on December 21, 2022, just days before Christmas, and at the time Greta Dyrmishi fainted she was standing at the front door of the aircraft.

According to local website emergency services sent a number of medics to the scene and CPR was administered but the young flight attendant did not respond.

“This 24-year-old female was cabin crew on a flight from Albania and was on the tarmac when she appeared to faint and was given basic first aid, explained Coroner Michelle Brown. “Ten minutes later there was no pulse and CPR commenced. Paramedics treated her and confirmed she had passed away.”

After the postmortem was concluded the cause of death was revealed as Sudden Adult Death Syndrome, also known as Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome or SADS.

The advises SADS is “when someone dies suddenly and unexpectedly from a cardiac arrest, but the cause of the cardiac arrest can’t be found.”

Coroner Brown told the inquest that the flight attendant����Ӱҵ death would be subject to a full documentary inquest.

At the time of her death Air Albania described their former employee as a “passionate professional, an excellent coworker, and a great friend to all of us.”
