Ed Wegel, now the head of AVi8 Air Capital, announced in a LinkedIn post that Zoom will take flight using a fleet of Embraer E190 and E195 jets before eventually switching to Airbus A220 补颈谤肠谤补蹿迟.听

鈥淲e are moving forward on our scheduled airline operation, and we will launch with the Embraer E190/195 E1, as we await Airbus A220s in a few years,鈥� Wegel wrote. 

Wegel praised the Embraer E1 for providing 鈥済reat range with an excellent engine type- the GE 34鈥�.   

No details regarding a launch date or exactly where the airline will commence operation were given but it is thought that it will mirror the network of former Miami-based operator Air Florida. 

Earlier in the year it was reported that Wegel planned to launch an airline called Air Flo which would operate an 鈥淎ir Florida narrowbody route network”. 

In a LinkedIn post last month Wegel said Air Flo will 鈥渙perate scheduled service from several Florida focus cities鈥� with an Airbus A220 fleet.聽

Wegel, who used to be president and CEO at Eastern Airlines, also founded a Florida-based startup airline called UrbanLink.  

On May 6, 2024, Lilium announced it has reached an agreement with UrbanLink for 20 units of its electric vehicle takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, the Lilium Jet, plus options for 20 more.聽聽聽聽聽

UrbanLink aims to operate inter-urban services in South Florida, connecting places such as Miami, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Marco Island, from 2026. 

In his most recent LinkedIn post Wegel said that 鈥淶oom will work closely with UrbanLink to connect passengers鈥�. 

Wegel also suggested that future UrbanLink pilots, who will start with 500 flight hours, will eventually be able move to Zoom’s E190s and eventually A220s. 

鈥淲e will home grow our cockpit crews,鈥� Wegel wrote.聽聽

The name Zoom has previously been used by a Canadian low-fare carrier that ceased operations in 2008.聽

The first new Embraer E195-E2 is scheduled to join the LOT Polish Airlines fleet by the end of July this year with all aircraft deliveries completed in Q3 2024.

LOT was the first operator of the brand-new E-Jet in 2004 with the maiden flight completed by an E170 on an 85-minute trip from Warsaw to Vienna on March 17, 2024.

Since that flight Embraer has delivered 1,800 E-Jets with the most recent received by Royal Jordanian Airlines in May 2024.

The flight simulator精东影业 launch was announced on February 19, 2024, as part of the existing Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS) joint venture. 

The E2 flight simulator will support operators in the region at the Singapore-CAE Flight Training Centre near Changi Airport (SIN). 

Among the first pilots to train on the new FFS are those from Singapore Airlines鈥� subsidiary, Scoot, in preparation of the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft精东影业 entry into service with the airline later this year. 

The E2 training program will feature CAE精东影业 competency-based training assessment (CBTA) courseware, interactive classroom instruction with the CAE Simfinity virtual simulator (VSIM), and immersive practical training in a new state-of-the-art CAE 7000XR Series FFS.

Embraer announced in July 2022 that it was entering the air freight market and would be converting both E190 and E195 jets into freighter aircraft, designated as E190F and E195F respectively.聽

Ath the time the planemaker cited 鈥渃hanging demands of e-commerce and modern trade鈥� as one of the key reasons behind its new ambitions. 

On December 1, 2023, the first E-Freighter conversion was unveiled at 贰尘产谤补别谤精东影业 headquarters in S茫o Jos茅 dos Campos, along with a fascinating video revealing the modifications that took place.  

According to the video shared by Embraer, the E190 jet was fitted with a reinforced floor and a new rigid cargo barrier (RCB) was installed.  

Perhaps most importantly though, a large new door was cut into the fuselage to allow for goods to be loaded onto the aircraft and then taken off.聽

The full freighter conversion is available for all pre-owned E190 and E195 aircraft, with entry into service expected in early 2024.  

Embraer sees a market for this size of plane of approximately 700 aircraft over 20 years. The Brazilian manufacturer believes that its E-Jets are positioned perfectly between turboprops and larger narrowbody jets to take advantage of the huge growth of global E-Commerce.聽

The Canadian airline, described as a 鈥渄isrupter鈥� to the aviation industry, said it had seen extremely positive results since it introduced the Embraer E195-E2 in 2023.聽聽

Porter already has an existing order for E195-E2s, so the total order now stands at 75 jets, with an option for 25 more further down the line.  

The deal is valued at $2.1 billion and deliveries from this additional order are set to start in 2025.  

Porter has already taken delivery of 24 E195-E2s, and recently announced new flights to Las Vegas, Miami, San Francisco, and Los Angeles with Mexico and the Caribbean also planned for the future.

Porter has chosen to configure the 146-seat aircraft in a comfortable 132-seat all-economy configuration.

Embraer and CAE recently announced the establishing of a state-of-the-art E2 full flight simulator and pilot training program in Singapore, set to commence operations by the end of this year.

The carrier, which operates both scheduled and charter flights, plans to use the dual-class 88-seat E175s to increase capacity on domestic routes and expand services to regional cities. 

According to the airline, the new aircraft will supplement the airline精东影业 current all-turboprop fleet and 鈥渆xpand our reach and network鈥�.  

Overland Airways managing director Capt. Edward Boyo said: 鈥淥verland has an ecosystem of aviation excellence crowned with its E175 fleet. With Embraer, we now have very flexible options to grow our fleet and capacity to meet all future demand.鈥澛犅�

As well as the three new arrivals, Overland Airways also holds an option for three additional aircraft.

Embraer launched the E190F and E195F Passenger-to-Freight Conversions program in March 2022, supporting the high demand for cargo and positive market trends in China.  

Embraer forecasts a market demand for 700 E-Jet freighters over the next 20 years. The Chinese market is forecast to need 240 freighters of this size, accounting for 34% of the global total, powered by demand from the e-commerce and logistics sectors. 

The maximum gross structural payload is 13,150kg for the E190F and 14,300kg for the E195F. 

The E190 and E195, the two models included in the P2F program, are some of 贰尘产谤补别谤精东影业 bestselling commercial aircraft of all time.  

Currently, there are 85 E-Jets flying with , Hebei Airlines, Beibu Gulf Airlines, and Colorful Guizhou Airlines in China.聽聽聽

The contract, worth $1.9 billion at list prices, consists of 20 firm orders and 19 options for E-175 jets in a 70-seat configuration. Deliveries of the planes are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2020, an by Embraer states.

鈥淭he E175, operated by our regional partners, has proven to be an important part of our fleet as we continue to grow our mainline airline and provide an enhanced customer experience,鈥� commented United Airlines CFO Gerry Laderman in the official statement.

The new E175s will be used to replace older aircraft operated at United Express regional affiliates such as ExpressJet Airlines, Mesa Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, which operate around 153 E-175s for the mainline carrier, points out.

United Express can only have up to 225 aircraft with 70-76 seats in its regional fleet under its contract with pilots. The regional branch flies the CRJ-100/200, CRJ-700, as well as E-170s, according to data.

The Franco-Italian regional aircraft maker ATR 75 new orders at Le Bourget worth a whopping $1.7 billion total. On the second day of the Paris Airshow, June 18, 2019, leasing company Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) for 35 ATR72-600s, with options for a further 35 and purchase rights for another 35 of the turboprops. Deliveries of the initial 35 aircraft are scheduled to begin in 2020.

The commitments announced during the airshow also include 17 orders for the new ATR42-600S or Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) variant of the ATR 42. Ahead of the planned official launch of the variant, the company has already announced three launch customers for the new version, including Air Tahiti, Elix Aviation Capital and one undisclosed customer. Air Tahiti  two ATR 42-600S and Elix Aviation 10 ATR 42-600S at Le Bourget.

Meanwhile, Brazilian plane maker Embraer sealed a total of 78 new deals. On the first day of the airshow, June 17, 2019, the company United Airlines for up to 39 E175s. The contract, estimated to be worth $1.9 billion at list prices, includes 20 firm orders and 19 options for aircraft in a 70-seat configuration. Deliveries of the planes are planned to begin in the second quarter of 2020.

Embraer found another major customer in KLM and its regional airline KLM Cityhopper, which its intentions to buy up to 35 E195-E2 jets, comprising 15 firm orders and purchase rights for a further 20 aircraft of the same model. The deal is valued at $2.48 billion at list prices. With a fleet of 49 E-Jets 鈥� 32 E190s and 17 E175s 鈥� at its regional subsidiary, KLM is the largest Embraer aircraft operator in Europe.

At the show, the Brazilian regional plane maker also signed a firm order with Fuji Dream Airlines (Japan) for two E175 jets and a contract with Binter (Spain) for two additional E195-E2s.
