Three more Russian airlines serving the country精东影业 far-East regions are going to be merged into a joint company, Russian media reports.

Yakutia, Polar Airlines and Khabarovsk Airlines will be merged with Aurora, which is posed to remain the only airline dedicated to serving the region.

The process of transferring the assets of the three companies to Aurora is still ongoing, according the airline精东影业 CEO Konstantin Sukhorebrik, Russian news agency Interfax .

In September 2022, two other airlines 鈥 Chukotavia and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Air Enterprise 鈥 were already merged into Aurora.

A plan to create a joint Russian far-East airline was announced by the country精东影业 president Vladimir Putin in 2019.

Aurora 鈥 a subsidiary of Russian flag carrier Aeroflot 鈥 was intended to be joined with other carriers in an effort to minimize spending and provide better services in the region, according to the plan.

Following the announcement, Aurora was decoupled from Aeroflot and transformed into a separate airline, while a host of smaller airlines, owned by regional governments, were prepared to be conjoined.

There has been no official announcement if more airlines, besides Yakutia, Polar Airlines and Khabarovsk Airlines, are intended to be merged.

Russian aircraft manufacturer Irkut Corporation has announced that it will conduct testing under sub-zero outside temperatures on its MC-21-300 prototype aircraft.

Testing will take place in Yakutsk, Russia. The manufacturer will perform trials of the MC-21-300 prototype passenger aircraft as part of the extension of the type certificate, which currently allows the aircraft to operate at air temperatures near the ground of minus 30 degrees Celsius.

According to a statement made by Irkut Corporation dated January 23, 2022, as Yakutia is one of the world精东影业 coldest regions, it has the right climatic conditions for aviation equipment to be tested at low temperatures.

The MC-21-300 systems have already been tested on stands under a temperature of almost minus 55 degrees Celsius, the manufacturer claimed.

鈥淚t will take approximately three weeks to conduct ground and flight tests in Yakutia, depending on the air temperature in the region. Each test phase is preceded by cooling of the aircraft and in the evening and at night it will be in the open parking lot for 12 hours. The Yakutsk Airport and Yakutia Airlines provide organizational and technical support for the tests,鈥 explained Daniil Brenerman, the managing director at Yakovlev Design Bureau.

The prototype aircraft flew from Zhukovsky (ZIA) to Yakutsk (ZIA) with more than 70 specialists on board to begin preparations for the proposed trials. According to the manufacturer, the flight proved the serviceability of all aircraft systems 鈥渇or a comfortable long flight with many passengers onboard鈥.

Andrei Boginsky, director general of Irkut Corporation, also revealed that the company will run a series of further trials to expand the existing certificate before the aircraft is finally mass-produced and delivered to its client, Rossiya Airlines, by the end of 2022.

The MC-21-300 aircraft is assigned to a new generation medium-range commercial passenger plane capable of flying between 163 and 211 passengers onboard. In December 2021, the aircraft was granted a type certificate by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia), which confirmed the aircraft精东影业 compliance with the certification requirements for commercial aviation equipment.鈥

RAD, a Russian auction house, has put a damaged airliner on a classified advertisements website, hoping to sell a no-longer-airworthy plane.

The aircraft 鈥 a Sukhoi SSJ100, registered as RA-89011 鈥 belonged to Yakutia Airlines. According to Planespotters.net, it delivered in 2012, although the lists it as 鈥渕anufactured in 2008鈥.

In October 2018, during a landing at Yakutsk Airport (YKS) the aircraft suffered a runway excursion which led to a landing gear collapse. Later investigation revealed that incorrect ATC data was to blame.

Several passengers were hospitalized with light injuries. Russian aviation news website Aviation21.ru that the aircraft sustained vertical acceleration of 4.39 G at the moment of impact with a concrete structure at the end of the runway. to Aviation Safety Network, an investigation revealed significant damage to the aircraft精东影业 fuselage and landing gear, as well as fuel leak. The aircraft was deemed damaged beyond repair, and had to be written off.

It is unclear how the airframe found its way to the hands of the RAD auction house. The advertisement was created on November 15, 2021, on Avito.ru website. According to the RAD profile, the company also offers over 130 cars and trucks of various models, and has a rating of 1.7 stars out of 5.

The advertisement for the SSJ 100 says that the aircraft is in an emergency condition, and cannot be restored to flyable condition. Numerous low-quality photos reveal the extent of the damage, including bent landing gear struts and mangled sections of the skin.

The listed price is 77,248,334 Russian rubles, or slightly over $1 million. The location is marked as Yakutsk, and no information in regards to shipping is provided.

Russian investigators released their final report on Yakutia Airlines SSJ100 runway excursion incident at Yakutsk Airport (YKS) on October 10, 2018. The investigation concluded that the main cause of the incident was the communication of an 鈥渋ncorrect braking coefficient鈥 to the flight crew by Yakutsk air traffic control.

A Sukhoi Superjet 100-95 of Russian airline Yakutia, registered as RA-89011, was on its way from Baikal International Airport (UUD) to Yakutsk Airport (YKS), Russia, carrying out flight R3-414, when, upon landing, it failed to stop before the end of the runway and collapsed. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Five crew members and 87 passengers evacuated the aircraft using emergency slides. Four people received medical attention, including a three-month-old baby, who was transported to the hospital for additional examination after luggage fell on him.

According to the Russian investigators, the incident was mainly due to the wrong information received by the flight crew. Indeed, it was reported that the friction coefficient at Yakutsk was at 0.45, with a 6 knots tailwind. Based on those parameters, the pilots proceeded with the landing despite one of the two thrust reversers being inactive.

However, it appears that the braking coefficient was in fact less than 0.3 due to the presence of ice, 鈥渨hich did not allow landing in accordance with current regulations,鈥 states the report. Because of the excessive landing distance, the aircraft came into contact with another part of the runway that had been recently reconstructed and was 0.4 meters (15 inches) higher. The investigators noted the absence of a connecting ramp between the two parts of the runway, which caused the landing gear to collapse, damaging the engines.

Yakutsk management was found faulty of not taking appropriate action, given that another landing carried out by Yakutia Superjet RA-9038 two hours prior also ended in a runway excursion. The aircraft had to be towed away.
