Emirates has begun powering aircraft departing from Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), as it continues to lead from the front in respect to sustainability
Emirates has previously announced that it will start using SAF on flights from Amsterdam, London-Heathrow (LHW), Paris, Lyon and Oslo, however the next stage for the airline was to move into Asian market.听听
Around 3.3 million liters of Neste blended SAF have been integrated into the fueling system at Singapore Changi over the course of the last few weeks.
Emirates said on June 13, 2024, that it will track the 鈥渄elivery of SAF into the fueling systems, accounting for and assigning its environmental benefits through widely used and accepted industry methodologies鈥.
Neste精东影业 SAF has been sourced from 100% renewable waste as well as residue raw materials, including used cooking oil and animal fat waste.

Currently, SAF is approved for use in all aircraft, but only in blends of up to 50% with conventional jet fuel.

Emirates has made significant investments in SAF and has led the way in terms of trialing the fuel on operating aircraft.
In 2023, Emirates was the first airline in the world to operate two landmark demonstration flights from Dubai on the Boeing 777 and A380 with 100% SAF in one engine.聽
